What to do in Paris in September can be a definite problem, simply because there’s so much going on! This mellow month is always an eventful one in our exciting city, and this year is no different. There are trade fairs, exhibitions and cultural events covering a wide range of subjects and interests; food, drink, travel, art, archaeology and more. There is something for everyone. What to do in Paris: major trade fairs
The Porte de Versailles presents over 200 events each year, and with its state of the art facilities is the foremost conference centre in Paris. From September 24th to 26th it hosts the e-commerce trade fair, demonstrating tools and techniques to position your business interests online.
The IFTM Top Resa (International french travel market), running from September 24th to 27th, is the top B2B trade show for travel and tourism in France.
September 23rd to 24th sees the Gourmet Food and Wine Selection trade fair, featuring around 330 exhibitors who specialise in gourmet foods and gastronomy. Elsewhere in the city, the Whisky Live Show comes to Paris for a tenth year on September 28th and 29th (with the 30th for professionals). The Maison de la Mutualité is the place for all connoisseurs of the dram.
Paris, fashion capital
Paris, fashion capital of the world hosts two major events from September 27th to 30th. Tranoi is an artistic fashion platform staging catwalk shows, parties, exhibitions and events at the Palais de la Bourse, Carrousel du Louvre and Montaigne. While some 450 labels from around the world will be presented in the beautiful Jardin des Tuileries when three fashion shows come together to present the theme of Japanese elegance and culture.
Art exhibitions in Paris this fall
Until September 23rd the National Eugene Delacroix Museum, housed in the 19th century Romantic painter’s former studio and apartment, is presenting an exhibition examining this wonderful artist‘s great proficiency as a writer and observer of society, nature and art.
The past of Paris is unveiled in the crypt beneath Notre Dame Cathedral when archaeological remains from beneath the forecourt which trace the city’s history from Roman times up to Baron Haussmann’s 19th century renovations are exhibited. Paris: Disappeared, Restored can be seen until December 31st.
The Musee d’Orsay presents Masculine/Masculine: The Nude Man In Art - From 1800 To The Present Day, from September 24th until 2nd January. This unique exhibition examines the artistic representation of the male physique through paintings, sculpture and photography.
